Yesteryear Collection



Birmingham City Police came into being in 1889 upon the former borough of Birmingham being granted city status. The force existed up until 31st March 1974 when it amalgamated with adjacent forces to form the present West Midlands Police.
The model depicts one of three ex-service ambulances in use by Birmingham City Police in 1923.
This model has been commissioned to commemorate the centenary of Birmingham City Police and bears the registration number of one of the original three vehicles.

Description: Very dark green body & bonnet, black chassis; white roof; mid brown seats; black grille; chrome plated parts; brass tool box top cover; red 12 spoke wheels; plain black tyres; clear perspex windows; BIRMINGHAM POLICE AMBULANCE emblem on both van sides; 'THE CHIEF CONSTABLES OFFICE, NEWTON STREET, BIRMINGHAM' in small light yellow text on bottom of van sides; 'DU1502' in light yellow lettering above rear door.
